Job Summary

A Part-Time Learning Consultant position is open at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Oakville. The Learning Consultant plays a key role in supporting students with diverse learning needs by collaborating with teachers, families, and administrators to ensure students receive appropriate academic support. This position provides expertise in student learning plans, instructional strategies, and intervention practices that help all learners thrive. The ideal candidate is student-centered, organized, collaborative, and passionate about helping children succeed in a faith-filled environment.

 


Job Responsibilities

ยท Support students with identified learning needs through targeted interventions, progress monitoring, and individualized strategies.

ยท Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt instruction, modify assignments, and implement accommodations that align with student learning plans.

ยท Conduct informal assessments and gather data to help identify student strengths, challenges, and appropriate supports.

ยท Maintain communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, recommended strategies, and available resources.

ยท Coordinate with administrators, teachers, and outside service providers to ensure continuity of support.

ยท Assist with the development, implementation, and review of student learning plans and accommodation plans.

ยท Participate in student support meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as needed.

ยท Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality in accordance with school and Archdiocesan policies.

Job Requirements

ยท Bachelorโ€™s degree in Education, Special Education, Learning Disabilities, or a related field required.

ยท Valid teaching certification; certification in Special Education or Learning Disabilities strongly preferred.

ยท Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs in a school setting.

ยท Strong understanding of intervention strategies, differentiated instruction, and student support practices.
