Job Description

The Mixing Setup Technician

Optimize the change-over process in Mixing and to fine tune the equipment in order to increase production consistency and reliability.

  1. Perform machine change-over and set-ups for optimum machine up time and consistency.
  2. Develop and implement guidelines for optimum setups on each machine with regard to stock being produced.
  3. Perform minor repairs on equipment: For example - photo eye adjustments, slitter blade adjustments, gripper hook ups, loop lengths, belt tracking etc...
  4. Help design and maintain Mixing process flow and layout optimization.
  5. Perform machine inspections to identify and help prevent major breakdowns.
  6. Assist in the training of all machine operators in Mixing.
  7. Assist in six sigma project implementation.
  8. Monitor and adjust for customer complaints such as: poor stacking accuracy, slitter accuracy, etc..
  9. Assist in carbon delivery issues mainly from day bin to mixer.
  10. Must communicate to on-coming tech any issues faced during shift.
  11. May be required to stay over or come in early for shift coverage.
  12. Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.
  13. Any other tasks deemed necessary by Mixing management.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED and 1 year Continental Manufacturing experience or 2 years mechanical experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job posting.
  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous manufacturing experience or Associates Degree

Environment

  • Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/ guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection and steel toe shoes. 
  • New Hires will likely be placed on a shift that includes evenings and weekends. 
  • The job is within a non-climate controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise. Majority of work completed in a high heat environment.
  • The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided.

The starting annual salary for this role is $64,613 a year.
