JOB DESCRIPTION: DELI CLERK                                 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Rotates, stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
  • Correctly prices all merchandise according to departmental guidelines
  • Follows proper wrapping and packaging procedure; including the use of the correct size tray and plastic wrap &/or container
  • Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
  • Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age; follows all safety policies and procedures
  • Cleans all required deli-bakery department tools and equipment
  • Follows proper procedure for producing all bakery/deli products
  • Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains a neat and clean work area.
  • Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy
  • Perform all job functions with limited supervision
  • May be required to decorate cakes
  • Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in temperature extremes, (frozen foods & storage cooler maximum low temperature, -10 degrees).
  • Orders product according to established guidelines in the absence of deli manager
  • Other duties as assigned
