Job description

Heavy Equipment Material Handler – Responsible for the safe operation of our material handlers- Link-Belt 240 Material Handler, Caterpillar 320dl. The ideal candidates will have heavy equipment experience and a great safety record. Daily cleaning and equipment inspections are required. The candidate will work to determine and meet all customers’ needs, providing friendly & efficient service. This position is full time, working at least 32 hours a week during our hours of operation (Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday, 6 am to 5 pm, Saturday 8 am to 1 pm).

Primary Job Duties

•   Operating heavy machinery- Experience with excavators, material handlers

•   Loading and unloading vehicles

•   Ability to take directions from management

•   Adaptability to new environments

•   Daily pre-trip inspection of equipment

•   Properly sort and load scrap metal to specifications in a safe and productive manner

•  Breaking down of certain materials for upgrades

•  Other duties as required

Physical Demands

• Ability to bend, stoop and reach above the shoulders is required

• Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 pounds

• The ability to work in both extreme heat and cold weather conditions is required
