McCoy Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership group with 25 locations across the Midwest and East South Central Regions, has an opening for a APEX GPS Machine Control Technician .
Our Grade Control Technician is responsible for the after-sale performance and technical support of all TopCon, SmartGradeTM and integrated grade control equipped machines.
Experienced Heavy Equipment Field Diesel Technicians are encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority):
โ€ข Support construction sites for automated machine control and construction layout
โ€ข Support, diagnose and repair TopCon, SmartGradeTM and related grade control issues.
โ€ข Communicate effectively with John Deere, General Manager and Territory Managers in your respective areas to promote, demo train and sell TopCon, SmartGradeTM machines.
โ€ข Complete & maintain all OEM and government certifications expected or required.
โ€ข Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
Education, Skills & Knowledge Preferred:
โ€ข Experience in Engineering, Technology, Marketing, or Demonstratable Equivalent Experience is needed.
โ€ข Proven track record using Topcon Machine Control in construction projects.
โ€ข Experience in construction layout utilizing GNSS or Robotic Total Stations, including the interpretation of site blueprints and the implementation of construction workflows."
โ€ข Familiarity with Topcon, Trimble, and/or Lecia technologies
โ€ข Passion for technology and heavy equipment, with a drive to learn and stay current on industry advancements.
โ€ข Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to effectively train individuals and small groups on technical concepts and procedures.
โ€ข Willingness to travel within assigned territory (Up to 75%)
Benefits:
โ€ข $50,000 to $65,000 Base wage + commission. Expected earnings of $80,000 - $150,000. Based on experience
