Job description

UPM is looking for its next team member dedicated to continuous improvement. Supported by O’Neal Industries with 100 years of expertise, this opening will provide you the opportunity to learn what it takes to distribute specialty metals across the globe. WORKING HOURS: Monday - Thursday 1:00pm - 10:30pm Friday 2:00pm - 6:00pm

WORKING LOCATION: Northbrook, IL 60062, On-site

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

Starting Wage: $23 - $25 depending on experience

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Run saws and cutting machines (we’ll train you)
  • Cut titanium, stainless, and nickel to customer and industry standard tolerances
  • Load and unload materials
  • Make sure parts meet required specs and quality standards
  • Keep your machine running and adjust when needed
  • Troubleshoot basic machine or material issues
  • Check your work-quality matters here
  • Keep your area clean and safe
  • Call out problems when something’s not right

  • You show up on time and ready to work
  • You’re not afraid of physical, hands-on work
  • You’ve got some mechanical sense (or want to learn)
  • Good troubleshooting skills—you can think through problems 
  • Warehouse or manufacturing experience is a plus (not required) 
  • You pay attention - mistakes cost time and material
  • You work well with a team
