Currently we are hiring in multiple product line manufacturing operations including - Steam Turbine, Large Generator, Gas Turbine and Combustion Components in a climate-controlled factory.
A Snapshot of Your Day
The primary purpose of this position is to plan, lay out, manufacture, modify, repair, and assemble a wide range of complex fixtures and machine tools. Under limited supervision and with minimal guidance, works with a variety of customers to plan, design and manufacture development work on tooling and fixtures while applying both conventional and non-conventional manual and CNC equipment.
The right candidate can be hired for Lathe Machinist, Vertical Boring Mill, and/ or Horizontal Boring Mill
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Set up and operate CNC equipment and perform various machining operations on a variety of parts and components
  • Sets-up and operates one or more of the following: CNC VBM with various control software, CNC Lathe, CNC HBM with various control software
  • Operate machine using various tables and fixtures
What You Bring
  • High school diploma required and preferred associate's degree
  • 3 or more years of tool room experience or equivalent knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) required.
  • CNC experience required with proficiency in CNC machining, offsets, metrology and at least one of the following: Lathe, Vertical Boring Mill, Horizontal Boring Mill.
  • Basic knowledge in CNC machining, manual machining, setups, monitoring tool wear, G-codes, M-codes, troubleshooting, and blueprint reading.
  • Detailed knowledge of sophisticated shop mathematics and the ability to interpret complicated drawings, blueprints, specifications, charts, and utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments.
  • The Career Readiness/Work Keys Certificate - Silver Status required
  • Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests as required to perform the duties.
  • Physical Demand: Moderate, with some periodic heavier lifting required
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
Preferred skills and experience:
  • Graduation from a certified Tool & Die Apprentice Program is preferred.
