What Will You Do?

As a Machine Toolmaker, you will be responsible for the sub-assembly and bench fitting of precision tools, producing high-accuracy components and sub-assemblies to exact specifications. You will program and operate NC lathes and CNC machining centers, including 3, 4, and 5-axis equipment, to manufacture complex parts. You will also perform conventional machining operations such as surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, jig boring, milling, and turning, ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and craftsmanship throughout the manufacturing process.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Sub assembly & bench fitting of precision tools
  • NC Lathe program and operation
  • Producing high accuracy components and sub-assemblies.
  • CNC programming and operation of 3, 4 and 5 axis machining centers.
  • Conventional manual machining - Surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, jig boring, milling, turning.

Requirements

  • Good level of education, preference apprenticeship program completion
  • Minimum 3-5 years' relevant experience with demonstrated proficiency in general Toolmaking and Fitting skillset
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing methods
  • A logical and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Being highly motivated, confident, and organized with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to absorb technical information quickly and being able to perform tasks whilst under pressure
  • Effective communication skills
  • US Citizen or existing Green Card Holder due to our customer facilities access requirements
  • May involve exposure to noise, dust, and moving mechanical parts. Proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), as required
  • Physically able to hold, repair, and adjust small tools
  • Physically able to squat, stoop, bend, climb, twist, lift, pull, reach up and out, lift up to 25 lbs., and carry 25 lbs.
