Job Overview
The CNC Machinist Lead is an experienced and highly skilled professional responsible for overseeing CNC machining operations and ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient production of high-quality parts. The CNC Lead will guide a team of machinists, manage workflow, and ensure compliance with all quality and safety standards.
A Day In The Life
Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by:
  • Preparing, programming, and operating CNC machines for tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy.
  • Translating instructions into computer commands for proper machine functionality.
  • Loading raw materials and parts, performing test runs, and adjusting settings for optimal results.
  • Setting machines for full production cycles to fabricate large quantities of parts.
  • Supervising machine operations, making adjustments as needed, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Inspecting and measuring finished products to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Performing daily maintenance checks to ensure machine functionality.
  • Coordinating team schedules, training, and workflow to meet production goals.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and quality

What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a CNC Machinist and 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required); certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline preferred.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program required.
  • Proven skill in operating CNC machinery, tooling, and precision measurement instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and technical drawings.
  • Computer proficiency with basic programming and CAD/CAM knowledge.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills.
  • Keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
