LOCATION: Erie Tool Shop (F&S Tool)
DIRECT REPORT: Tooling Director

1.0 PURPOSE: Construct, refurbish and repair mold components using manual and CNC machines.
2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES, including but not limited to:

  • 2.1 Use caution and support facility systems to assure safety event free facilities.

  • 2.2 Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures.

  • 2.3 Observe, respond and report any instance of product, service, or quality systems non-conformity.

  • 2.4 Security diligence: maintain control of key cards, prevent unauthorized entry to facilities by non-Berry employees, and proper

  • maintenance / security of Berry equipment.

  • 2.5 Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in 4.0 and associated training.

3.0 AUTHORITIES, including but not limited to:

  • 3.1 Pause activity and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and

  • supplier practices.

  • 3.2 Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product, service or quality systems.

  • 3.3 Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

  • 3.4 Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, facilities or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.

4.0 PRIMARY DUTIES, including but not limited to:

  • 4.1 Complete apprenticeship program to obtain Journeyman certificate.

  • Document Identity

  • 1.0 Content

  • 4.2 Assemble and check all types and styles of injection or blow molds.

  • 4.3 Operate assigned make of manual and CNC machines.

  • 4.4 Use precision measuring tools to accurately record dimensions of components.

  • 4.5 Assist superiors in any day to day activity.

  • 4.6 Maintain cleanliness of shop.

  • 4.7 Work overtime as needed.

  • 4.8 Build skills to hold tight tolerances in efficient time.

  • 4.9 Increase understanding of Tooling blue prints.

5.0 QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • 5.1 High school education / GED equivalent.

  • 5.2 Able to accurately read blue prints.

  • 5.3 Ability to climb on and off a forklift safely and without assistance.

  • 5.4 Ability to safely operate a forklift in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a safety risk to others. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.

  • 5.5 Ability to push/pull loads of approximately 75 lbs at a minimum of 10 times per day/shift.

  • 5.6 Able to stand/walk for 7.5 hours of an 8-hour shift.

6.0 PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  • 6.1 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • 6.2 Excellent problem solving skills.
