Job Description Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technician Location: Huger, SC Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a growing team responsible for maintaining and improving heavy processing equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and improving mechanical systems supporting critical production operations. The ideal candidate is a self-driven mechanic who enjoys solving complex mechanical problems, minimizing downtime, collaborating across teams, and improving overall equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, chains, sprockets, couplings, and power transmission equipment. Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, pumps, filters, hoses, regulators, and actuators. Perform precision alignment of motors, pumps, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.

Replace bearings, seals, shafts, rollers, wear components, and mechanical assemblies. Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor machining as required. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic diagrams, OEM manuals, and assembly drawings.

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects to maximize equipment uptime. Collaborate closely with electrical technicians during major repairs, installations, and equipment upgrades. Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, including writing daily reports, responding to emails, and searching for replacement parts via computer.

Maintain proper care and cleanliness of tools, equipment, materials, and work areas while providing shift coverage as needed. Required Qualifications 5+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with rotating equipment and power transmission equipment.

Demonstrated experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, and bearings. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and diagrams. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures.

Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet search). Mechanical apprenticeship, trade school certification, or equivalent industrial experience. Ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 80 lbs occasionally, working at heights, in tight spaces, and around heavy machinery

Preferred Qualifications Experience in steel processing, stamping, or heavy manufacturing environments. Welding and metal fabrication experience. Experience working on slitting equipment, overhead cranes, and heavy material handling systems.
