Responsibilities

• Gather and review borrower financials to determine eligibility for various loss mitigation solutions such as forbearance, repayment plans, trial payment plans, and hardship assistance programs.

• Ensure critical steps in preparing the loan file are completed including title, escrow review, and investor related documentation is received.

• Ensure all interactions and actions are documented in the servicing system according to CFPB, FHA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other investor requirements.

• Collaborate with underwriting, collections, and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of loss mitigation requests.

• Educate borrowers on the consequences of non-payment and promote early intervention strategies to prevent foreclosure.

• Track application status, deadlines, and escalating accounts at risk of timeline violations or regulatory breaches.


Qualifications

Must-Have Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years in mortgage servicing, loss mitigation, collections, or related financial services.
• Experience with investor guidelines (FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac) strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of mortgage delinquency, loss mitigation, and foreclosure prevention practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in mortgage servicing software (e.g., MSP, Black Knight) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet regulatory deadlines.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
