Our investment solutions, tailored to the unique return and risk objectives of institutional clients in more than 60 countries, draw on a robust body of proprietary research and a collaborative culture that encourages independent thought and healthy debate. About the Role

Lead Salesforce Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid – Any Wellington Management office location

Time Type: Full‑time

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer focused on Salesforce Sales Cloud and the Force.com platform to serve as a senior, hands‑on technical leader with architectural ownership for Salesforce solutions at Wellington Management. This role sits within Wellington’s Client Platform Technology group, which is responsible for building and evolving platforms that support client engagement and distribution capabilities across the firm. The position aligns to a senior / lead individual contributor level within Wellington's engineering career framework, emphasizing technical depth, platform stewardship, and influence rather than people management. The role partners closely with established lead architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality Salesforce solutions that support Wellington’s global client and distribution capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide architectural ownership for Salesforce Sales Cloud and Force.com‑based applications supporting client and distribution functions.
  • Collaborate with other lead architects to ensure Salesforce designs align with Wellington’s broader enterprise architecture, integration patterns, and long‑term platform strategy.
  • Act as a senior technical advisor, working directly with business partners and product teams to translate requirements into clear, well‑designed technical solutions.
  • Guide solution design with a strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, leveraging standard and declarative features wherever possible and applying custom development thoughtfully.
  • Establish and uphold architectural standards and best practices for Apex, Lightning Web Components, integrations, data modeling, and security.
  • Review designs and significant enhancements to ensure consistency, maintainability, and platform health over time.
  • Partner with engineers and delivery teams to ensure architectural intent is carried through implementation and ongoing evolution.
  • Work effectively with distributed and remote teams across the globe, contributing to design discussions, reviews, and decision‑making in a collaborative, inclusive manner.
  • Mentor engineers and administrators, helping raise the overall Salesforce engineering and architecture maturity.
  • Ensure Salesforce solutions meet Wellington’s enterprise controls, data protection standards, and audit expectations within a regulated financial services environment.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including substantial experience designing and delivering solutions on Salesforce Sales Cloud and the Force.com platform.
  • Proven experience operating as a lead‑level individual contributor, with responsibility for architectural decisions and technical direction.
  • Background in financial services or investment management, with exposure to complex business processes and regulatory considerations.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, including both declarative tools and custom development.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical audiences and influence outcomes without formal authority.
  • Deep technical expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components, integrations (REST/SOAP), data modeling, and platform security.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience architecting Salesforce solutions supporting sales, client servicing, pipeline management, or related distribution capabilities.
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and multi‑system environments involving Salesforce.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams across regions and time zones.
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer, Application Architect, or System Architect) are a plus.
  • Experience with Agentic Development Tools.
Working Model

This is a hybrid role and may be based in any Wellington Management office location, working collaboratively with teams around the world. Employees work from the offices 4 days a week with flexibility to work remotely 1 day a week.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: USD 120,000 - 225,000. The range takes into account factors such as skill sets, role, experience, certifications, and education. Other rewards may include a discretionary corporate bonus and/or incentives, if eligible. A comprehensive and high‑value benefit package is offered, including retirement plan, health and well‑being, dental, vision, and pharmacy coverage, health savings account, flexible spending accounts and commuter program, employee assistance program, life and disability insurance, adoption assistance, back‑up childcare, tuition/CFA reimbursement, and paid time off (leave of absence, paid holidays, volunteer, sick and vacation time).
