Job Title: Configuration Management Specialist

Location: Norfolk, VA; Hybrid 

Clearance Level: Active Secret 

Job Description
  • Collect, categorize and maintain all artifacts or work product created by the Contractor or
    their sub-Contractors in a manner consistent with DOD and DISA standards for knowledge
    management. 
  • Utilize the MSC's Approved Property System of Record (APSR) to manage the life cycle of MSC C4I assets afloat and ashore from installation to disposal. MSC's APSR is Corrective Maintenance and Logistics System (CMLS) & Shipboard Configuration and Logistics Information Program (ShipCLIP). 
  • All configuration changes performed by Contractor (adds, changes and deletes) shall be processed using the feedback function in CMLS/ShipCLIP.
  • Provide configuration management and change control; provide Technical Data Management, manage Configuration Item and technical baselines, and manage changes to new and existing baselines.
  • In support of this area, the Contractor shall perform activities to include: Configuration Management Planning, Configuration Identification, Configuration Change Management, Configuration Status Accounting, and Configuration Verification and Audit.
  • Perform configuration management to control design changes associated with the MSC
    transport architecture
  • Provide configuration management and change control; provide Technical Data
    Management, manage Configuration Item and technical baselines, and manage
    changes to new and existing baselines.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems, software applications, and hardware components within enterprise Windows network environments.
  • Perform system configuration management activities to ensure standardized, secure, and compliant workstation and server baselines across the environment.
  • Support the deployment, integration, troubleshooting, and sustainment of Windows-based hardware and software solutions in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Manage and document configuration changes, system builds, software updates, and hardware inventories to maintain configuration control and audit readiness.
  • Apply Microsoft Windows patches, security updates, and vulnerability remediations to maintain system security and operational integrity.
  • Implement and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and cybersecurity best practices to support compliance with DoD and organizational security requirements.
  • Conduct system validation, testing, and verification activities following installations, upgrades, and configuration changes to ensure functionality and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot Windows operating system, hardware, networking, and application issues in a timely and effective manner to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity, network, and engineering teams to support secure system configurations, vulnerability management, and accreditation activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration management records related to Windows system installations, patching, and compliance activities.
  • Support lifecycle management activities including system imaging, hardware refreshes, software deployments, and configuration baseline updates.
  • Utilize configuration management tools and processes to track system assets, configuration items, and change management activities across the enterprise environment.
