Senior SharePoint / M365 Technical Lead (Key Personnel)
Position Summary
UpSlope Advisors is seeking a Senior SharePoint / Microsoft 365 Technical Lead to provide technical leadership for enterprise SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 GCC environments. This position will serve as a key technical authority responsible for SharePoint architecture, tenant governance, Section 508 compliance, engineering standards, and the overall quality of Microsoft 365 solutions.
The successful candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience with SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 GCC, modern SharePoint architecture, Power Automate, and enterprise governance, along with the ability to establish technical standards and guide engineering teams through complex solution design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
SharePoint & M365 Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical direction for SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 GCC engineering initiatives.
  • Lead the design, development, configuration, and implementation of modern SharePoint solutions.
  • Establish architectural standards and make technical decisions for SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to developers, engineers, administrators, and other project team members.
  • Review solution designs and ensure implementations align with approved architecture and organizational standards.

SharePoint Architecture & Engineering
  • Design and maintain modern SharePoint Online sites, site collections, information architecture, navigation, permissions, and content structures.
  • Develop scalable solutions that support enterprise collaboration, document management, and business-process requirements.
  • Integrate SharePoint Online with Power Automate and other Microsoft 365 capabilities to automate workflows and business processes.
  • Support solution troubleshooting, performance optimization, and technical issue resolution.
  • Establish and enforce development and code-quality standards for SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions.

Microsoft 365 Tenant Governance
  • Develop and maintain governance standards for SharePoint Online and the broader Microsoft 365 GCC environment.
  • Establish standards for site provisioning, permissions, lifecycle management, configuration, security, and information management.
  • Evaluate proposed technical solutions for compliance with enterprise governance requirements.
  • Identify architectural, security, scalability, and maintainability risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement of Microsoft 365 governance policies and technical standards.

Section 508 & Accessibility
  • Provide technical leadership for Section 508 accessibility compliance across SharePoint solutions.
  • Ensure SharePoint sites, applications, workflows, and supporting content are designed and implemented in accordance with applicable accessibility standards.
  • Incorporate accessibility requirements into technical design, development, testing, and quality-review processes.
  • Support identification and remediation of accessibility issues within SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Eight (8)+ years of hands-on experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or engineering Microsoft 365 GCC environments.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing modern SharePoint Online sites and solutions.
  • Hands-on experience integrating Power Automate with SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience developing and implementing enterprise-level SharePoint and Microsoft 365 governance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to make and document technical architecture decisions.
  • Experience establishing and enforcing development, engineering, and code-quality standards.
  • Working knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements and their application to SharePoint and Microsoft 365 solutions.
  • Strong technical leadership, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Microsoft Certification
A current role-based Microsoft certification in one or more of the following areas is preferred. Demonstrated equivalent experience may also be considered:
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102 track)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305 track)

Retired MCSE, MCSD, or MCSA certifications are not required and will not be considered primary evidence of current Microsoft platform expertise.
Key Personnel Responsibilities
As a designated Key Personnel position, the Senior SharePoint / M365 Technical Lead will serve as a primary technical authority for:
  • SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 engineering direction
  • Microsoft 365 tenant governance
  • SharePoint architecture and solution-design decisions
  • Section 508 technical compliance
  • Development and code-quality standards
  • Technical review and approval of SharePoint/M365 solutions
