You will be part of a team developing responsible for evaluating, trouble-shooting, providing support to liaison in providing dispositions.

The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.

Your Challenges:

The material and processes (M&P) Engineer position will be responsible for evaluating, trouble-shooting, providing support to liaison in providing dispositions. This position requires attention to detail, self-motivated, great attitude and team player as well as using good judgement and making sound decisions while under pressure and close deadlines regarding dispositions to support production. As customer interface is possible, professional appearance and communication skills are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support: 80%

  • Analyze current configuration and provide a solution to liaison that supports certification.

  • Understand current manufacturing processes and determine if other practices can be used.

  • Proficient in understanding current manufacturing (ASPS) processes.

  • Take part in liaison MFT providing M&P information to support the decision making for liaison dispositions.

  • Review dispositions for accuracy.

Take part of M&P community: 20%

  • Take part of daily meetings.

  • Support when required in reviewing drawing for release providing M&P direction.

  • Create and/or review process documents.

  • Other duties as assigned

Your Boarding Pass:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical) with a strong curriculum emphasis on structural design and analysis and mechanics of materials.

  • Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience dealing with manufacturing processes.

  • Experience in drawing reviews and approvals.

  • Frequently uses widely known technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve technical problems.

  • Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment both independently and collectively.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Experience in CATIA and Enovia.

  • Familiar with engineering design specifications.

  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite 100%

  • Vision: Daily able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.

  • Hearing: Daily able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.

  • Speaking: Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): Daily able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.

  • Carrying: Daily able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

  • Lifting: Daily able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

  • Pushing / Pulling: Daily able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.

  • Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.

  • Squatting / Kneeling: Daily able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.

  • Appropriate hearing/eye protection required when working on the shop floor
