Security Officer - Luxury Retail

Location: Chicago, IL 60622 (In-Person) Compensation: $25.00/hr + Paid Sick Time

Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time | Weekdays 11:00 AM, 7:00 PM | Sunday 12:00 PM, 6:00 PM | Weekend availability required

License: Valid Illinois PERC Security Card required before first day

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are seeking a professional and composed Security Officer to support a high-profile luxury retail environment in Chicago. This role requires a strong presence, sound judgment, and the ability to balance security awareness with a refined guest experience.

The ideal candidate is comfortable managing high foot traffic, understands access control and crowd dynamics, and can operate confidently in a visible, client-facing role where discretion and professionalism are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a professional, welcoming, and authoritative presence throughout the store
  • Greet and guide guests while supporting a calm, orderly environment
  • Monitor entry and exit points and manage access as appropriate
  • Observe and manage crowd flow during peak periods and special activations
  • Provide clear direction and support during busy hours
  • Receive and track deliveries, packages, and high-value items accurately
  • Identify and discreetly address suspicious or disruptive behavior
  • De-escalate tense situations using calm, respectful communication
  • Communicate effectively with store leadership regarding incidents or concerns
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding clientele, staff, and internal operations
  • Uphold grooming, uniform, and conduct standards consistent with a luxury retail setting

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Illinois PERC Security Card, required before your first day
  • Prior experience in law enforcement, military, corrections, security, or door and crowd control, strongly preferred
  • Experience managing entry control or high-volume guest environments is a plus
  • Strong situational awareness and sound decision-making skills under pressure
  • Excellent communication and conflict de-escalation abilities
  • Ability to remain calm, alert, and professional throughout the shift
  • Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality
  • Ability to stand and actively monitor for extended periods

  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to report consistently to the Chicago location
  • Position is 100% in-person, no remote option
