Job description

Overview
The Commercial Sales Area Leader is a home-based position based inCharlotte, NC, or Atlanta, GA, responsible for driving Lutron's commercial sales growth throughout the Southeast region. In this role, you will lead and develop Lutron's network of manufacturer representative agencies, partnering with agency principals and sales teams to drive growth, strengthen channel relationships, and execute commercial sales strategies.
You will influence key stakeholders across the commercial construction ecosystem, including architects, engineers, lighting designers, consultants, contractors, distributors, and end users. By building demand with specifiers and positioning Lutron as the preferred choice for intelligent lighting, shading, and control solutions, you will expand market share and increase specification opportunities throughout the region.
This highly visible individual contributor role requires commercial sales leadership, relationship management, technical aptitude, and the ability to influence others without direct authority. You will collaborate with manufacturer representatives, distributors, and internal partners to identify growth opportunities, execute go-to-market strategies, support new product introductions, and shape project outcomes. Through effective channel leadership and consultative selling, you will drive long-term growth while reinforcing Lutron's leadership position within the commercial market.
This is a home-based position requiring travel throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. Candidates must reside in either the Atlanta metro area or the Charlotte metro area.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop manufacturer representative agencies across the Southeast region.
  • Achieve territory sales targets while effectively managing budgets and selling expenses.
  • Build executive relationships with key specifiers and channel customer leaders.
  • Coach manufacturer representatives on commercial sales programs and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify growth opportunities and recommend strategies to increase market share.
  • Develop specification accounts and position Lutron as the basis of design.
  • Partner with business units to support pilots and provide market insights.
  • Ensure manufacturer representatives execute commercial strategies and regional priorities.
  • Collaborate with agency principals to strengthen teams and drive performance.
  • Influence commercial project stakeholders to increase solution specification and adoption.
  • Develop territory plans, manage pipeline activity, and execute growth strategies.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in project sales or consultative solution sales, ideally within the lighting controls, lighting, building technologies, commercial construction or related industries.
  • Experience delivering customer training, presentations, or public speaking engagements.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Personal vehicle and Driver's License required.
  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.
