Job description

POSITION:                  Lunch Monitor
SCHOOL:                    Amherst Street Elementary School
REPORTS TO:            Principal
STARTING:                ASAP  / 180 Days in the 2025-2026 SY
SALARY RANGE:      $14.41/hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to communicate effectively with students, ability to work cooperatively with co-workers, prior experience with children desirable, physically capable of actively supervising and/or assisting students, ability to effectively carry out routines and procedures in cafeteria, ability to communicate with the school's faculty,staff and administration when necessary to resolve an issue.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED. Prior experience with children is a plus.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows procedures for an orderly lunch program, notifies the school nurse or office in case of a student injury, responds appropriately to student behaviors consistent with the school discipline policy, promotes and encourages good table manners, eating habits and common courtesies, ensures that students practice proper cleanliness in the cafeteria, promotes a positive cafeteria environment, maintains a safe and orderly environment for students, performs other duties as may be assigned by the school principal.
