The Mohler Lumber Company in North Canton is currently seeking full-time and part-time Yard Associate. We are a fourth-generation family-owned lumber yard supplying premier building products for residential, commercial and industrial projects.  We offer a generous employee discount, paid vacation, health and dental insurance, and the opportunity to join a high-energy, enthusiastic group of people with a passion for customer service and a vision for growth.
The Yard Associate is responsible for assisting customers with locating products, staging materials for delivery, and using a forklift to load and unload lumber and building materials.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide our contractors and residential customers exceptional service.
  • Advise walk-in customers on lumber and building materials and their uses, helping them select the best product to meet their needs.
  • Assist customers with loading and unloading of materials.
  • Unload incoming lumber and building materials deliveries, and ensure items are stocked to their proper locations.
  • Build and stage loads for delivery, ensuring the accuracy of each customer’s order.
  • Occasionally make deliveries or pick-up customer returns using company vehicles.
  • Keep lumber yard clean, well-organized, and safe. Follow safety rules and regulations.
  • Help to maintain equipment, grounds and buildings. 
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of lumber and building products required
  • Experience in a lumber yard or warehouse environment preferred
  • High school diploma required
  • Ability to operate a forklift preferred
  • Valid OH driver’s license, and clean driving record required
  • Able to work outdoors in all climate conditions
  • Physically demanding job, requires heavy lifting (up to 80 pounds), standing, bending
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends
  • Pre-employment drug test required
Goals: 
  • Continually expand knowledge of all departments, both in the lumberyard and retail store.
  • Become a versatile employee, able to help in other areas as needed.
  • After enough experience, become a mentor to new employees and help them understand products and procedures.
