Assistant Store Manager

We currently operate 1,300+ brick and mortar locations, including specialty concept stores for the NBA, NHL, Paris Saint-Germain, and the two largest MLB franchises, via our Yankees & Dodgers Clubhouse stores. Position Summary
The Assistant Store Manager drives sales growth by delivering exceptional customer service and supporting all Company performance objectives. This role coaches associates using consistent, documented feedback; maintains visual standards through accurate merchandising and signage; and ensures a clean, well-presented store-while modeling a professional appearance in line with the Company Dress Code Policy.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Experience
• Lead service behaviors to produce sales gains and support KPIs.
• Model selling and ensure accurate, timely resolution of customer needs.
• Maintain visuals including proper merchandising, signage, cleanliness, and store readiness.
Coaching & Performance
• Deliver documented feedback on sales performance, recognizing strengths and coaching opportunities.
• Set expectations aligned with Company objectives and follow up for results.
• Model professionalism including adherence to the Company Dress Code Policy.
Operations & Expense Control
• Protect Company assets by following Lids policies and best practices.
• Assist with scheduling to provide coverage within wage guidelines.
• Manage inventory processes including receiving, transfers, price changes, and counts with accurate documentation.
• Open and close the store per the Operations P&P Manual and maintain records consistent with policy and law.
• Support and adhere to all Lids policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Additional Principal Duties and Responsibilities
No additional principal duties are required for this role beyond those outlined above.
Job Required Knowledge and Skills
• High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to drive retail sales while minimizing loss.
• Clear, professional verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Computer proficiency and ability to learn retail software and POS systems.
• Ability to work independently with sound judgment.
Physical and Travel Requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to occasionally climb a ladder and work with hands overhead
- Ability to constantly stand on shift
- Ability to frequently walk on shift
- Ability to frequently hear and communicate verbally with customers, employees, and other personnel
- Ability to frequently visually observe the store and read written or digital information
- Ability to frequently operate a computer and mobile Point-of-Sales system, as well as maneuver relative software programs
