Driver, Luggage Van - 2026
Department: Guest Services
Employment Type: Seasonal - Full Time
Location: Fairbanks Transportation and Guest Services
Reporting To: Lance Thompson

When preparing for a vacation, some spend days planning and packing the perfect outfit or bringing the right essentials to make their vacation run as smoothly and as comfortably as possible. As a luggage handler, you make sure all their packed belongings arrive to their new home-away-from-home. You and the rest of the team work together to collect, load, and disperse luggage daily to ensure our guests' belongings follow them on their Alaskan journey.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs a variety of luggage handling and driving tasks.
  • Routinely drives a 15-passenger van; applies knowledge of the area to drive employees to a pre-determined location.
  • Routinely loads and unloads luggage from trucks, motorcoaches, and luggage vans at our various properties and the airport.
  • Organize, sort, tally, tag, and label guest luggage daily.
  • Assists with misplaced and damaged luggage.
  • Performs basic mechanical duties.
  • Communicates frequently with supervisors and other team members via radio for updates, requests, or concerns.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Current valid driver's license with clean driving record. (Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested).
  • Must meet Company's clean driver eligibility requirements.
  • Minimum age of 18 is required.
  • Must be able to lift 50 - 75 pounds regularly, sometimes above head level.
  • Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service to all guests, coworkers, and vendors.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, maintain an attention to detail and accuracy, while working in a team or group environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
  • Ability to lift 50 - 75 pounds regularly, sometimes above head level.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers, employees, and management.
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
