Lubrication Technician Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Lubrication Technician. As a Lubrication Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper lubrication and maintenance of industrial equipment such as turbines, compressors, and hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine lubrication tasks on various industrial equipment according to maintenance schedules.

Inspect equipment to identify lubrication needs and potential issues.

Monitor lubricant levels and quality - recommend adjustments or replacements as necessary based on several factors that include but are not limited to oil analysis, eye test, vibration/ultrasonic analysis, and/or time-based factors.

Clean and maintain lubrication equipment and tools.

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment.

Document maintenance activities, including lubrication schedules, quantities used, and equipment conditions.

Assist in troubleshooting equipment problems related to lubrication.

Common Job Tasks (Not required to have upfront knowledge on all tasks listed)

Day-to-Day

1. Oil Routes

a. Monitoring equipment lubricant levels

b. Lubricant top offs

c. Time/Condition based oil changes

d. Monitor/Clean spills and leaks

e. Change oil filters

f. Change/Clean sight glasses

g. Complete Preventative Maintenance tasks

h. Document, track, and share all findings/actions

2. Equipment Monitoring

a. Vacuum dehydrators

i. Install/uninstall

ii. Adjust settings as needed

b. Filtration equipment

i. Install/uninstall

ii. Adjust settings as needed

3. Lubrication Inventory

a. Lube cabinets

b. Bulk lubricants

c. Grease

d. Future project planning

e. Follow first in - first out inventory procedures

f. Order all necessary lubrication to keep required stock at proper levels

Monthly/Quarterly/As Needed

4. Sample Collection Programs

a. Create/Run sample routes using proper sampling techniques

b. Deliver samples to oil analysis lab

c. Create reports highlighting current lubricant issues

d. Offer solutions/recommendations to lubricant issues

5. Ultrasonic Grease Programs

a. Acquire greaseable motor decibel readings

b. Grease equipment as dictated by ultrasonic analysis

c. Track and trend the data obtained in the field

6. Special Projects

a. Reservoir cleaning

b. Oil flush and fills

c. Commissioning

d. Grease line purging

e. Equipment lubricant labeling/color coding system

f. Identifying proper sampling points

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical maintenance preferred.

Basic computer skills such as navigating email, Word, and Excel Spreadsheets (Only Beginner Level of Experience Required)

TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card)

Proven experience in industrial maintenance or similar field is a plus (1+ years).

Basic understanding of lubrication principles and techniques.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers

Ability to lift 10lbs - 75lbs at various frequencies as well as crouching, stooping, stair climbing

Ability/willingness to work in the cold/heat on various jobs

Eagerness to change gears from one job to the next as well as working on jobs and tasks from time to time that may be outside your general job description

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.

Preferred (but not required):

Certification as a Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT) or Machinery Lubrication Analyst (MLA).
