Position Summary: The Technical Advisor - Well Service Products role will be a customer-facing, technical problem-solving, and business-supporting position that directly impacts UTEX Well Service Product performance, customer satisfaction, and sales growth. This role will play a critical part in improving customer retention, reducing downtime, and ensuring product reliability, leading to increased trust in UTEX sealing solutions and contributing to sales growth.

The Technical Advisor - Well Service Products will serve as a key technical expert and customer liaison, ensuring optimal well service packing performance and longevity. This role involves on-site troubleshooting, performance optimization, and relationship management with well service and pressure pumping companies in the Permian Basin.

Customer Support & Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between customers and UTEX, ensuring our well service products align with their operational needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with frac and well service companies to support fluid-end maintenance and replacement cycles.
  • Provide hands-on training and guidance to customer field personnel on installation, maintenance, and failure prevention best practices for well service packing.
Fluid End Optimization & Technical Support
  • Conduct on-site inspections and performance assessments of UTEX Well Service Products to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose common failure points (improper installation, inadequate lubrication, degradation) and recommend preventative maintenance solutions.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to implement best practices for proper installation, lubrication, and sealing techniques, improving product longevity.
  • Provide recommendations on packing materials, seals, and components best suited for specific applications and conditions.
Troubleshooting & Field Service
  • Respond to urgent customer issues related to UTEX products and packing failures, minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Perform on-site failure analysis, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work closely with customers to analyze well service packing performance data and identify efficiency improvements.
  • Support sales teams by identifying customer needs and providing technical recommendations on sealing solutions and well service packing sets.
  • Educate customers on the benefits of different materials, installation procedures, and UTEX-provided packing tools to extend well service packing (WSP) life.
  • Gather market intelligence and provide feedback to engineering and product development teams to refine sealing solutions on an application basis.
  • Document all service visits, training sessions, customer interactions, and technical recommendations in detailed reports for internal tracking and follow-up.
  • Work closely with sales, R&D, and engineering teams to improve product designs based on field data collected.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and new technologies in fluid end solutions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Strong technical expertise in well service packing, fluid ends, and packing lubrication systems.
  • Experience in field-level operations, equipment field service, and maintenance in oilfield services.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and optimize well service packing sets under extreme conditions.
  • Excellent customer-facing and relationship management skills.
  • Self-starter who can work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
Required Education and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in an oilfield services role, pressure pumping, well service operations, or fluid end maintenance.
  • Hands-on knowledge of fluid ends, frac pumps, and high-pressure pumping systems.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting, diagnosing failures, and optimizing theperformance of fluid ends.
  • Strong ability to work independently in the field, managing service visits and customer interactions.
Preferred Experience
  • Customer-facing experience (ex. technical sales, field service sales, or maintenance roles).
  • Experience working with oilfield service companies, pressure pumping operations, or pump OEMs.
  • Knowledge of pumping applications and their impact on fluid end performance.
Location: Permian Basin - Field-Based Role

Travel: Required within assigned service region and other basins on a case by case basis.
