LSIT stands for Land Surveyor in Training. An LSIT is an individual who has passed the Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam and is on the path to becoming a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS). The LSIT designation demonstrates foundational knowledge in land surveying principles and is often a requirement for gaining practical experience before full licensure. LSITs typically work under the supervision of a licensed surveyor and perform tasks such as collecting field data, preparing survey maps, and assisting with boundary determinations.
