Job description

Hourly Pay: $30 - $35 / hr

Maxim Healthcare in Reno, NV is hiring for a Licensed Practical Nurse to work with a medically fragile pediatric patient in the Northern Nevada (Reno) area on weekdays. The shifts will be compromised of splits, in which a morning shift is completed to help with morning routine before school, in addition to an afternoon shift where the patient is cared for after school. Times may range. 

Our serviced patient may be g-tube, complex meds, seizure precautions, or vent/trach dependent, with a skills advancement program available that includes a 4-hour vent preface and 80 hours of hands-on training in the home with a nurse we deemed qualified to vent train.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • On each assignment, provides skilled nursing care/services in accordance with prescribed orders
  • Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.

Qualifications:

  • Currently licensed as an LPN/LVN in the state in which the LPN will practice.
  • Current TB or Chest X-Ray.
  • Current BLS card.
  • One year prior professional nursing experience preferred
