Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
Driving
Delivers Gas Cylinders to customer locations in El Paso, TX and/or 300 miles around. Makes Long-Haul trips in a tube/tanker truck to pick up Industrial, Medical, and Specialty gases. Maintains tractor and trailer in good mechanical and physical condition. Maintains vehicles in a clean manner to promote a good Brand image. Load/unload cylinder truck. Uses of the tracking system define by the company to perform the control of the company assets. Fill LPG/Cryogenic cylinders/tanks as required.
Filling
Filling Medical and Industrial high-pressure gas cylinders, filling liquid cylinders and filling tube trailers and pipes in compliance with federal, state, local and company regulations. Safety and safe operations in the fill room. Filler keeps filling section and warehouse in a clean and safe way. Compliance with all regulations. Filler complies with FDA requirements for Food/Medical gases filling & post-filling quality process. And takes care of fill reports for all gases, and keeps files in order and up to date. Shipping and Receiving tasks. Filler helps with cylinders and products, maintains accurate inventory control of cylinder gases, conducts cycle count inventories, cylinders maintenance (valve cylinders, replace hand wheels, paint, etc.) and assist operations and customer service with deliveries when needed. The Multi-Operator will substitute the Cylinder Filler when they Cylinder Filler is out of the office.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent General Education Degree (GED)
Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred
  • Must have valid Texas Drivers Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
  • Must have Tanker N endorsement.
  • Must have current HazMat certification.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to successfully pass a drug screen, DMV check, criminal background check and assessment.
  • Forklift Certification required.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Delivering gas cylinders and hard goods.
  • Present a positive Customer Service image.
  • Ability to deliver orders using company vehicle.
  • Ability to work safely and to maintain the work area clean and organized.

  • Filling
    • Inspect cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required by industry standards.
    • Prepares high pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling: Attaches to manifold, evacuates cylinders to eliminate all possible contaminants.
    • Fills cylinders by pressure and temperature, per regulations and standards.
    • Manually, or utilizing the computerized/automated fill plant system, sets calibrations to analyze selected cylinders for purity, dew point, oxygen, hydrocarbons and other required qualities.
    • Conducts a variety of safety checks per procedures, such as ring test, odor test, checking caps, safeties, retest dates, pressure ratings and valves.
    • Accurately apply labels per GHS standards to cylinders and safely stores cylinders in appropriate storage areas, assisting in maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
    • Complies with all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials and cylinder gases.
    • Maintains neat, clean and orderly plant appearance.
    • Performs routine maintenance on cylinders.
    • Reports any problems or issues with equipment or materials to supervisor or other designated personnel.
    • Completes daily fill sheets for every type of gas, as required by DOT, FDA, and the Company.
    • Completes quality control sheets as required.
    • Learns the hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders; how to read and interpret cylinder labels. How to read and identify the Hydro-Test of a cylinder, Serial Number and barcode System manipulation.
    • Learn how to use and operate properly the TrackAbout System.
    • Performs other duties as assigned for the efficient operation of the Fill Plant.
    • Possesses ability to cross train in all areas of the plant.
    • Fills cylinders and monitors pressure gauges to determine gas pressure and volume, and records instrument readings in log.

  • Medical Gas Program
    • Understand the medical gases cGMP practices and ensure compliance with SYOXSA QC&A program.
    • Ensure compliance with FDA requirements.
    • Fill medical gases as required when primary medical gas filler is off or need assistance.

  • Food Grade Program
    • Oversee compliance with SYOXSA Food Grade Program.
    • Ensure compliance with FDA requirements.
