Prairie Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our telehealth team in Wichita, Kansas. Work Environment

This role is designed with flexibility in mind, as it is 100% remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home. As a telehealth specialist, you will leverage technology to conduct therapy sessions, assess patient needs, and communicate effectively with clients, all while ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to identify patient needs, establishing treatment goals collaboratively with clients.
  • Maintain clear and ongoing communication with supervisors, direct care staff, and family members regarding each client's progress to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Prepare a tentative schedule of client appointments, home visits, and necessary observations for effective monitoring of patient progress.
  • Coordinate in-home observations and reviews when necessary to provide a holistic understanding of the client's circumstances.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of individual treatment plans, documenting outcomes accurately and consistently.
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings, sharing insights and updates regarding client progress and treatment effectiveness.
  • Complete detailed monthly and quarterly progress notes that reflect each client's journey and treatment responses.
  • Facilitate training sessions for staff to ensure competency in program implementation and documentation practices.
  • Conduct follow-up interviews and home visits to provide sustained support and adapt care as client needs evolve.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and the mental health community, promoting initiatives that aid in reaching developmental goals.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials aimed at enhancing program effectiveness for individuals in care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse clientele, providing mental health support to a broad spectrum of patients including both adults and youth. This role allows you to directly impact the mental well-being of individuals facing a variety of challenges, from trauma and substance misuse to familial issues and life transitions.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Kansas.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional counseling experience, preferably in a clinical setting, is essential.
  • A strong understanding of legal and ethical practices related to mental health counseling.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to build rapport with a vary of clients.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) software and telehealth technologies.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialized training or expertise in family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance abuse treatment is highly desirable.
