Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Prairie Behavioral Health, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting ongoing assessments to determine and address the individual needs of each patient.
• Maintaining open communication with supervisors, direct care staff, family members, and other involved parties regarding patient progress and treatment plans.
• Providing a tentative schedule of appointments and home visits to ensure timely and effective patient care.
• Coordinating home visits, which may include conducting observations, chart reviews, and interviews for thorough data collection.
• Ensuring the effective implementation of individualized program plans and making adjustments as necessary.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and collaborate on treatment strategies.
• Documenting and completing monthly and quarterly progress notes that capture client developments.
• Organizing training sessions for staff to ensure the proper implementation of program plans and documentation standards.
• Conducting follow-up interviews and observations to provide ongoing support for patients, reinforcing their treatment goals.
• Acting as a liaison with the community and public stakeholders to support the development and enhancement of mental health services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population, including both adults and youth. Your expertise and empathy will enable you to address a variety of mental health challenges faced by clients, ranging from anxiety and depression to trauma and substance misuse. You will play a crucial role in promoting their overall well-being and improving their quality of life.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• An active and unrestricted license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey.
• At least two years of counseling experience, ideally in a clinical setting.
• A strong understanding of legal and ethical standards that govern the practice of counseling.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to build rapport with diverse clientele and work effectively within a team environment.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) software and other relevant technologies.

Preferred Experience

While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, those with specialization in family therapy, couples therapy, substance abuse counseling, or trauma-informed care will be given priority. A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team is also highly valued in this position.

Compensation and Benefits

Prairie Behavioral Health offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and caseload. In addition to a competitive salary, we provide an array of benefits, including:
