Job description

1. Education: Graduate of an accredited college or university with at least a master’s degree in social work.
2. Experience: Previous healthcare experience as a Bachelor’s Level Therapist in a behavioral health setting. Must have completed hospital and unit orientation period in order to act as a team leader.
3. Skills: Successful Completion of: Job Description Competency Tool. The therapist must possess effective communication skills and must demonstrate leadership ability and interest in professional growth. Must be readily adaptable to changing physician demands, without deterioration under stress; and must have a basic concept of budgeting, scheduling, and counseling. The therapist must possess demonstrated knowledge, training and skills necessary and appropriate to the patient-specific population. Therapist must be able to set priorities and effectively delegate/coordinate interdisciplinary care based on the needs of the patient, census, staffing and unit needs. Ability to function with minimum supervision and interface appropriately with health team.
4. Performance & Competency: Must successfully demonstrate competency in field and work environment on a continuous basis—including age-specific competencies, clinical competencies and organization-wide competencies such as fire, infection control, emergencies, etc.). Performance will be measured and routinely evaluated with clinical administrative staff as required.
5. Safety Sensitive: YES

DESCRIPTION:
The Therapist will provide quality individual and group therapies, as well as oversee case management services to patients on the Behavioral health unit using professional standards, and according to their licensure and or certification. The therapist will assist in receiving patients, working with families and placement of patients at discharge, as well as coordinating immediate aftercare services.
