POSITION SUMMARY:

The Industrial Engineer II is a problem-solver, facilitator, change agent, innovator, resource, designer and project manager. Responsible for performing these functions on issues as they are assigned (or arise) in the designated area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Champion Lozier's Mission, Vision, and Core Values by demonstrating the behaviors that contribute to Lozier's success.
  • Responsible for the successful completion of projects with clearly defined goals and scope and concise project progress reports.
  • Evaluates need, analyzes options, develops plan, develops Appropriation Request (AR) and manages implementation of project until completed within the allotted time frame.
  • Assists support personnel in less complex technical matters as needed.
  • Develops, installs and maintains optimum processes for the safe manufacture of quality product in a productive manner using modern manufacturing methods.
  • Develops procedures in standardized work format and provides training on new processes, tools and equipment, including but not limited to developing and designing workplace layout and methods through the optimal use of motion economy principles, ergonomics, handling devices, etc.
  • Develops, implements and maintains equitable labor standards, adhering to organizational procedures for delay studies and labor standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate maintenance of routing and bills of material files on corporate manufacturing data management system. Implements existing measurement tools to assist improvements in productivity.
  • Coordinates successful corrections to production problems using sound industrial engineering problem-solving techniques and practices, and may develop alternate methods or processes to allow emergency continued production.
  • Alternate solutions are evaluated using sound engineering economy techniques.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • General manufacturing engineering functions as necessary.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor degree in engineering or another related field. Industrial engineering preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of applicable engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Required Skills:

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Good written and oral communications.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop plans for accomplishing assigned work and set priorities with a proper sense of urgency.
  • Ability to make timely decisions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of the Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) or similar work measurement system.
  • Experience and knowledge in LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigma, Toyota Production System.

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Some travel required.
