This position reports to:
EL Sales Support Manager
As the Tender / Quotation Specialist focusing on Low Voltage Motor Control Centers, you will have the opportunity to create and complete bids, estimations, and quotations based on customer specifications, requirements, or budget to achieve market competitiveness and high margins for the company. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting and collating the information required to prepare proposals, including both technical, cost elements, and commercial data.
The work model for the role is hybrid (#LI-Hybrid) out of preferably the Houston, TX ABB Facility, or in the Mebane, NC manufacturing plant.
This role is contributing to the Electrification business. Distribution Solutions. Product Low Voltage Motor Control Center. Region North America.
You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Formulating competitive bids, estimates, and quotations by considering the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial aspects for each situation.
  • Creating well-documented tenders in a timely manner and with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.
  • Managing the preparation of technical, financial, and, if required, project management aspects of the bid, estimate, and quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.
  • Ensuring that inputs for editing activities related to bid, estimate, and quotation preparation are provided in a timely manner and in accordance with the established quality procedures.

Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent / similar fields)
  • Must possess technical background within ANSI/IEC low voltage switchgears and/or motor control centers (if not in those specific products, than experience within packaging, services, electrification and or distribution systems)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering, sales, quotations, proposals, manufacturing
  • Candidates with prior proposals experience are strongly preferred
  • Proficient with MS Word, AutoCAD, Excel, SharePoint and preferably programming skills (macros, java, PowerApps, etc)
  • Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US
