Purpose of Position To design and develop new remanufactured products, remanufacturing processes, and testing protocol for new remanufactured product lines for multiple market channels including but not limited to Automotive Aftermarket and OES, heavy duty, off-road, commercial, and appliance.


Essential Functions:

  • Reverse engineer original equipment to determine reman requirements
  • Develop testing protocol at a part level to define repair needs by part
  • Develop functional testing protocol to ensure parts function same as new
  • Meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Develop remanufacturing processes for new product categories
  • Create detailed reman procedures and work instructions
  • Provide technical support to remanufacturing operations
  • Develop required components with suppliers
  • Support Quality Engineers in documentation and bidding requirements
  • Support procurement, operations, and maintenance as needed
  • Perform data analysis, including but not limited to root cause failure analysis, and provide input to the operation's continuous improvement processes
  • Conduct time studies and product costing as appropriate
  • Develop product, material, performance, and other technical specifications as needed
  • Establish product and application training modules to support both internal and external needs
  • Inspect product samples as required
  • Provide technical reports as required

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with customers to provide technical support as required.
  • Create and sustain close relationships with Supplier's technical departments
  • Set up and attend trade shows as required
  • Follow all company safety, compliance and housekeeping regulations in order to maintain a healthy work environment.

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor's Degree program with Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering Major 
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and written, simple to complex information to a small or large group
  • Strong computer application skills, specifically, Excel

D. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • 80-90% Lab environment. 10-20% Manufacturing environment. Daily use of wrists, hands, fingers, arms to use computer and phone. Ability to hear and speak clearly for gathering and giving simple to complex information to a group. May have to move boxes under 50lbs when investigating parts and/or stand on feet for long periods of time.
