Job description

As Lead Engineer for Low Voltage Systems, you will lead the architecture, detailed design, integration, and certification of the low voltage electrical systems that power avionics, flight controls, and auxiliary systems across BETA's aircraft platforms. This includes both industry-standard 28V power distribution and multi-kW high voltage to low voltage power conversion.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Lead the design, integration, and certification of low voltage electrical systems
  • Develop electrical architecture, detailed component electrical and mechanical design, load analyses, and circuit protection schemes
  • Own electrical system design releases in CATIA / 3DEXPERIENCE
  • Manage suppliers for key low voltage components and drive qualification activities
  • Drive ARP4754A development processes and certification activities
  • Lead requirements verification activities in coordination with adjacent systems and test teams
  • Support system verification, aircraft integration, and flight test activities
  • Partner with Systems Engineering to deliver certification artifacts and documentation
  • Collaborate with Avionics, Flight Controls, High Voltage, and Manufacturing teams
  • Manage a small engineering team with direct reports

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience designing electrical systems for aircraft
  • 2+ years of engineering leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage engineering deliverables
  • Strong understanding of 28 VDC power distribution, DC/DC converters, circuit protection, and battery systems
  • Working knowledge of ARP4754A development process, MIL-STD-704, and DO-160
  • Experience with requirements management tools (Polarion, DOORS, or similar)
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Above and Beyond Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience designing electrical systems for aircraft
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage engineering deliverables
  • Strong understanding of 28 VDC power distribution, DC/DC converters, circuit protection, and battery systems
