Job description

An experienced retail pharmacy technician opportunity is available with a specialty retail pharmacy that serves complex patients managing multiple medications daily. This role involves supporting a diverse patient population, including those with chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Location:

  • Cleveland, OH
Job Type:
  • Contract to hire, 13-week assignment
  • Start: ASAP
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in dispensing medications and managing pharmacy operations in a specialty retail setting
  • Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients, many with low literacy levels
  • Use strong communication skills to patiently educate and support patients taking 8-15 medications daily
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Utilize pharmacy software, preferably Rx30, to manage prescriptions and records
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
  • Experience in retail or specialty pharmacy environments is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with medication regimens for patients with chronic diseases
  • Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 drugs commonly dispensed in retail pharmacy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients requiring patience and empathy
  • Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification is highly preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience with Rx30 software is a strong plus
