Prewire Technicians install wiring for low voltage control systems into luxury/custom homes, primarily new construction.

We are looking for awesome people to join our team of installers at a fast paced and growing company. This is an entry-level construction based labor position focused on the rough-in wiring of homes for install of smart home automation systems. This work is in preparation for and to accommodate audio, video, security, shading, lighting, and other automation equipment at a later date.

The hours are Mon-Thurs from 6:30 am to roughly 4:00pm. This position is entry level and we are willing to train those with a desire to work hard and excel in the home automation industry. This position gives many opportunities to advance into a more skilled, higher paying position once work ethics, ability, & desire are established. Company vehicles and fuel are also provided from the shop to the job site.

Pay: $17.38 - $23.79 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Installation of rough-in wiring in new construction, crawl spaces, attics and other locations.
  • Low voltage cabling, installation of junction boxes, brackets, enclosures, and wire management.
  • Install, terminate, label, and test Cat 5e / Cat 6 / RG6 / RG11 cabling.
  • Install, label and test speaker and security system wiring.
  • Complete installations according to project plans and proposals.
  • Follow industry standards and building codes for low voltage installations.
  • Maintain job site and vehicle cleanliness
  • Interact with employees, customers, and colleagues effectively and on a professional level

Requirements:

  • General understanding of basic hand-tools (i.e. screwdriver, wire strippers, drill, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand AVS As-Builts (building blueprints)
  • Ability to install wiring as per plans and/or other direction.
  • Ability to use a tone generator and wand
  • Must be able to work on a ladder and lift 50-75 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to sit, stand, stoop and bend for extended periods of time
  • Must promote the Company's core values to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners
  • Must be self-motivated, positive, professional, and willing to help create, develop and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain client privacy and personal professionalism at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Be a US Citizen
  • Have valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Pass drug screen and background check
  • Be able to acquire or purchase needed tools
  • Low Voltage/AV experience is preferred
