Job description

Overview
Lovelace Medical Group is searching for a skilled BE/BC Sleep Medicine Physician for an employed opportunity in beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico.

About the Position:

  • Lovelace Medical Group Sleep Clinic

  • 36 patient-facing hours and 4 hours of administrative time per week, Monday-Friday

  • Team of 2 physicians and 1 NP

  • No APP supervision responsibilities

  • No call

  • Sleep Medicine practice focused on comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders

  • Collaborative multidisciplinary environment working closely with Pulmonology, Neurology, Psychiatry, ENT, and Primary Care providers

  • Opportunity to interpret polysomnography (PSG), MSLT, MWT, HSAT, and PAP titration studies

  • Manage CPAP, BiPAP, and ASV therapy, including initiation, adjustment, troubleshooting, and long-term follow-up

  • Evaluate and treat insomnia, hypersomnia, parasomnias, circadian rhythm disorders, sleep-related movement disorders, and sleep-related breathing disorders

  • Opportunity to participate in research, outcomes studies, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Telemedicine opportunities available for sleep consultations and follow-up care

  • Emphasis on patient education, sleep hygiene, PAP adherence, and long-term treatment success

Required Qualifications:

  • Board Certification in Sleep Medicine (ABIM, ABFM, ABPN, or ABSM pathways).

  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Sleep Medicine Fellowship

  • Background in Pulmonary/Critical Care, Neurology, Psychiatry, or Internal Medicine with additional Sleep Medicine training

  • Active state medical license and DEA registration, or ability to obtain

  • Demonstrated expertise in sleep disorder evaluation and management

  • Experience evaluating and treating insomnia, hypersomnia, parasomnias, circadian rhythm disorders, sleep-related movement disorders, and sleep-related breathing disorders

  • Experience interpreting polysomnography (PSG), MSLT, MWT, HSAT, and PAP titration studies

  • Proficiency managing CPAP, BiPAP, and ASV therapy

  • Evidence-based diagnosis and treatment planning for complex sleep-related breathing disorders

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary care team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with behavioral sleep medicine or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)

  • Board Certification in Sleep Medicine (ABIM, ABFM, ABPN, or ABSM pathways)

  • Knowledge of upper airway and ENT-related contributors to sleep-disordered breathing

  • Experience providing telemedicine and virtual sleep medicine services

  • Participation in clinical research, outcomes studies, or quality improvement initiatives

  • Strong patient-centered communication skills focused on sleep hygiene, PAP adherence, and long-term treatment success
