Job description

Seneca Foods in Geneva, NY is currently seeking a 2nd Shift WH- Pallet Repair person to join our team. Seneca Foods offers an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K, paid time off and much more! Help us make our Farm Fresh Goodness Great!
Position Summary:
Responsible for the sorting of repairable and non-repairable pallets. Repair the repairable pallets with skilled tools
and simple tools
Work Shift Schedule:
This position follows the "Traditional Work Schedule" 2nd Shift Monday - Friday
NOTE: The seasonal nature of our business often requires working overtime. Therefore, hours may fluctuate due to business necessity and meeting operational needs.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities, or Job Duties:
  • Sort pallets into groups; repairable and non-repairable.
  • Add boards or stringers to repairable pallets using tools.
  • Stack all pallets in neat orderly stacks.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to comprehend instructions.
  • Ability to use skilled hand tools (electric saws, air powered nail gun)
  • Ability to use small hand tools (hammer, crowbar)
  • Ability to use Sky Hook to stack pallets.

Education:
  • High School education or equivalent

Experience:
  • One to 3 months experience and/or training
  • Mechanical experience helpful

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires to sit, talk, hear, walk, climb, stoop, knell or squat and/or lift up to 50lbs. Constant walking/standing on concrete floors, elevated surfaces. Physical ability and knowledge to use skilled hand tools.

Working Conditions:
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places.
  • Frequent exposure to loud noise.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Adhere to all safety equipment requirements to include bump hat, hairnet, ear protection.
  • Safety glasses required in some areas.

*Wage range based on skills, abilities and experience from $19.00 to $31.50 per hour.
