Job description

Maintenance Supervisor / Facilities & Lot Operations

Art Moehn Auto Group is seeking a dependable, hardworking Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the appearance, upkeep, and day-to-day functionality of multiple dealership locations and other company-owned or owner-designated properties.

This is a highly varied, hands-on position for someone who takes pride in keeping buildings, grounds, parking lots, and customer-facing areas clean, safe, organized, and operating properly. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, mechanically inclined, comfortable working independently, and willing to handle whatever the day requires.

This is not a desk job. The amount and type of physical work will vary from day to day. Some days may involve significant lifting, moving equipment, snow removal, cleanup, landscaping, or other manual labor. Other days may be lighter. A period without heavy lifting does not eliminate the ongoing physical requirements of the position. The successful candidate must remain ready and able to perform physical work whenever needed.

When there are no immediate maintenance projects, this position will assist with vehicle inventory, showroom displays, parts and vehicle transportation, lot organization, and other operational needs throughout the dealership group.

Primary Responsibilities Facility and Property Maintenance
  • Regularly inspect buildings, parking lots, grounds, and owner-designated properties to identify maintenance, safety, cleaning, or repair needs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs involving lighting, doors, fixtures, furniture, painting, plumbing, heating and cooling systems, and other building components within the employeeโ€™s experience and ability.
  • Maintain parking lots and grounds, including trash removal, weed control, basic landscaping, pressure washing, and general cleanup.
  • Complete maintenance and improvement projects at dealership locations and other designated properties as assigned
  • Respond promptly to spills, restroom issues, leaks, weather-related problems, and other situations that cannot wait for the regular cleaning crew.
  • Keep customer-facing areas clean, orderly, free of debris, and in excellent condition.
  • Ensure furniture, fixtures, signage, and displays are clean, functional, and properly arranged.
  • Perform snow removal and sidewalk salting before opening and throughout the business day as weather conditions require.
  • Monitor maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment and notify management when replacements or additional materials are needed.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, storage areas, and maintenance workspaces in a clean and organized condition.
  • Identify repairs that require licensed or specialized contractors and communicate recommendations to management.
  • Meet with, provide access to, and oversee outside contractors during repairs, installations, inspections, and service visits.
  • Dispose of obsolete equipment, materials, trash, and other items as directed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and applicable health and safety requirements.
Dealership and Vehicle Support

When maintenance demands allow, responsibilities will also include:

  • Keep dealership lots full, straight, clean, and properly organized.
  • Assist with moving, arranging, and locating vehicle inventory.
  • Ensure showrooms are filled with clean, properly positioned display vehicles.
  • Prepare and clean demonstration vehicles, rental vehicles, display vehicles, and other company vehicles as requested.
  • Pick up and deliver vehicles, parts, supplies, equipment, documents, and other materials between dealership locations, vendors, customers, and assigned properties.
  • Drive long distances to pick up/deliver vehicles as needed
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and moving furniture, equipment, supplies, displays, and inventory.
  • Help dealership departments with setup, cleanup, special projects, events, and other operational needs.
  • Perform other reasonable duties necessary to support the dealerships, company properties, and ownership.
What We Are Looking For
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to perform both skilled maintenance tasks and basic manual labor.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work without constant supervision.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to notice problems and address them before being asked.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with common hand and power tools.
  • Experience with facility maintenance, property management, construction, landscaping, automotive operations, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize changing needs across multiple locations.
  • Professional judgment and discretion when working at or around confidential company and ownership matters.
  • A cooperative attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed rather than viewing any reasonable task as "not my job."
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with managers, employees, contractors, vendors, customers, and ownership.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and driving record acceptable to the companyโ€™s insurance provider.
  • Ability to safely operate a variety of passenger vehicles and light trucks.
Physical and Scheduling Requirements
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, push, pull, carry, and work with tools.
  • Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds independently and heavier or awkward items with appropriate assistance or equipment.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work even when that type of work has not been required recently.
  • Willingness to travel between multiple dealership locations and assigned properties during the workday, and limited overnight stays for long drives.
  • Availability for early-morning snow removal, weather-related needs, emergencies, or occasional schedule adjustments when necessary.
Why Join Art Moehn Auto Group?

This position offers variety, independence, and the opportunity to have a visible impact throughout our organization. No two days will be exactly the same. Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Primarily daytime hours, with seasonal early mornings and occasional schedule flexibility for overnight trips as needed
Compensation: $30-40/hr. Based on experience
Benefits: 401(k), health, dental, vision, paid time off, employee discounts
