Loss Prevention Specialist

Location: Compton, CA
 Schedule: Monday-Friday | 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
 Pay: Competitive Hourly Rate + Shift Differential
 Employment Type: Temporary with Potential for Full-Time Conversion

Overview

A leading national distribution and logistics organization is seeking a Loss Prevention Specialist to support security, asset protection, and operational loss prevention efforts within a high-volume distribution center environment.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy investigations, security operations, surveillance, and maintaining a safe workplace. The Loss Prevention Specialist will work closely with site leadership to protect company assets, reduce shrink, monitor facility activity, and support internal investigations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Protect company assets, including employees, inventory, equipment, property, and confidential information
  • Monitor shipping and receiving operations, trailer yard activity, facility access points, parking lots, and other critical areas
  • Observe and document vehicle and trailer movement entering and exiting the facility
  • Monitor merchandise flow throughout the distribution center
  • Conduct CCTV surveillance and investigate suspicious or potentially dishonest activity
  • Assist with internal investigations and shortage analysis
  • Support loss prevention initiatives designed to reduce operational shrink
  • Ensure compliance with established safety, security, and fire prevention procedures
  • Verify incoming and outgoing trailer activity and maintain accurate records
  • Respond professionally and appropriately to incidents and security concerns
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
  • Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous loss prevention, security, warehouse security, asset protection, military, law enforcement, or investigative experience
  • Coursework or degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Security Management, or related field
  • Experience working in a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution environment
