Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what's next.

The Role

Global Production Solutions enables Netflix Production success through leadership in innovative production practices and expertise. We operationalize and scale how Netflix makes stories globally to deliver more value on screen.

As the Program Manager, Live Media Operations, you will serve in a seasoned individual contributor role requiring deep expertise in Live operations and media logistics combined with a strong program management capability.

You will partner with Netflix Live Production and Netflix Product teams to develop and steward a global operational standard for Live, together defining the baseline level of operational support that all Netflix Live productions will meet, regardless of region or format. At the same time, you will serve as a strong internal liaison between regional Netflix Production leaders and the Netflix Product Management organization, translating operational realities into actionable business needs to help inform studio product requirements, and ensuring new or enhanced studio products are operationalized effectively across the business.

You will succeed by enhancing global operational consistency, aligning partner teams across regions on agreed standardized workflows, providing practical insights that shape product decisions in direct support of production realities, and earning deep trust as a credible expert with Netflix Live Production.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development and maintenance of operational standards for Netflix Live productions, helping define the minimum requirements for operational readiness across all regions, formats, and event types

  • Serve as a global connector across a multi-region team, ensuring regional needs and constraints are represented in global standards and vice versa

  • Foster and strengthen the product feedback loop: gathering and synthesizing operational insights from Live Production stakeholders, translating them into clearly articulated business needs, and helping Product and Technology teams connect to the right people at the right moments

  • Liaise with internal product teams and production teams on the operationalization of new or enhanced products, developing operationalization plans, coordinating change management, contributing to training and guidance documentation, and ensuring Live Production teams are set up for success

  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment on Live operational strategy, driving prioritization discussions and surfacing tradeoffs between creative, operational, and technical considerations

  • Maintain a current understanding of the Live production landscape, with a particular focus on production media management, to credibly engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies in Live production, identifying implications for Netflix's operational standards

  • Develop and maintain clear, well-structured documentation, including operational playbooks, standard operating procedures, and program status communications for senior leadership

  • Concurrently manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment, maintaining visibility into risks, dependencies, and progress across the portfolio

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in Live production for sports programming for network-level broadcast or major platform streaming

  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a credible subject-matter expert in live media operations workflows

  • Deep understanding of media management and asset workflows, including a strong familiarity with MAM/PAM system operations for large-scale sporting events, and workflows for creating secondary assets (e.g., highlights, promotional assets), as well as experience ensuring workflow compatibility with third-party media management systems

  • Familiarity with remote production and on-site technical operation, digital audio/video fundamentals, compression technologies, distribution formats, and video transport protocols

  • Solid program management fundamentals: ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives with competing priorities, build and maintain clear project plans, and communicate effectively to both working teams and senior leadership

  • Experience developing operational standards, workflows, or playbooks that have been adopted across multiple teams or regions

  • Track record of translating operational needs into technical requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse internal stakeholders, from production partners to executives

  • Comfortable operating with significant ambiguity and driving clarity in situations where scope and process are still being defined

  • Flexibility to adjust working hours to engage with partners in different time zones across the globe

  • Knowledge of product development practices preferred
