Lakeland Joint School District is accepting applications for Substitute Teachers for the 2025-26 school year.
Benefits of Substituting with Lakeland:
  • Choose the schools where you want to work
  • Accept assignments that fit your schedule
  • Work with students from kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Remain active by accepting at least one assignment per month

Pay:
  • $110 per full day
  • $16.22 per hour when assigned to cover paraprofessional positions
  • $14.85 per hour when assigned to cover noon duty positions
  • $130 per full day for retired teachers
  • $120 per full day for long-term substitute teacher assignments (after 11 days)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with school-aged children preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with students in classroom, small group, and one-on-one settings
  • Ability to follow lesson plans and directions provided by the classroom teacher, principal, and Guest Teacher Coordinator
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
  • Teaching certificate is encouraged but not required
