Job description

Overview

Loon Mountain Sports is seeking a knowledgeable Boot Fitter to join our retail team for this upcoming winter season. LMS Boot Fitters provide quality customer service to all guests and are experts in ski and snowboard hard good products. The role of a Boot Fitter is to greet and guide guests in proper fitting of ski and snowboard boots and to understand Loon’s services, promotions, and hours of operations in order to provide consistent information to all guests. Additionally, Boot Fitters will be expected to actively contribute to a safe and clean environment for all guests throughout the resort.


Responsibilities

Develop a comprehensive understanding of proper fit of ski and snowboard boots.

Greet guests; quickly identify guest’s specific needs and steer them in the appropriate direction.

Be a hard good product enthusiast and sell products that meet the needs of the guest.

Provide directions and anticipate guest’s questions.

Maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all interactions.

Tuning, repairing, and storing equipment and supplies according to vendor or manufacturers’ instructions.

Responding to customers in a positive manner, especially when they are relating a problem or issues and attempt to resolve it on immediate basis.

Completing required documentation for each demo and sale, ensuring that receipts and change are in order.

Overseeing the repair, cleaning, and maintenance of rented/new/used equipment, both in a preventative and regular capacity.

Making sure the service shop is operating properly and that any need for maintenance communicated to the supervisor.

Completing any other tasks that may be assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous retail sales experience in hard and soft goods preferred. Outdoor retail experience and boot fitting knowledge a plus. Must have a boot fitters certificate or ability to obtain one.
