What You’ll Do
We are currently seeking a full time Van Driver for our Mishawaka location. The pay rate is $17.64.
Primary duties:
  • Will provide transportation for Oaklawn clients at the Mishawaka campus and their families for appointments, visitations, court appointments, etc.
  • Will drive outside of St Joseph County and long distances to Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Kokomo and other locations.
  • Will receive assignments directly from the Team Leader.
  • Schedule will include weekends and holidays for coverage.
Customer Contact/Relationships:
  • Will have regular contact with program Team Leader to receive work assignments and discuss any unusual problems or concerns regarding clients or the transportation function.
  • Will interact with clients and staff about transportation for their clients.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:
  • High School education or GED preferred.
  • In absence of High School Diploma or GED equivalent, the position requires previous 1 year experience in Transportation/Driving.
  • A valid driver's license is required with the For Hire Endorsement ( FOR HIRE – NON CMV ONLY), depending on the vehicle driven.
  • Must have a safe driving record.
  • Must pass a driving test, facilitated by Oaklawn

An individual will be excluded from consideration for employment for positions which require him/her to drive clients if any of the following violations appear on his/her driving record:
  • Driving under the influence/Operating while Intoxicated (DUI/OWI) in the past three years
  • Reckless Driving in the past three years
  • License is currently suspended
  • No Proof of Financial Responsibility in the past three years
  • More than three moving violations in the past three years
