Position Type: Part time / Temporary position
Job Summary:
As an Athletics Bus Driver, you'll play a crucial role in providing safe and reliable transportation for our athletics teams. Reporting to the Bus Manager and/or Athletic Director, you'll ensure the smooth operation of our bus services, maintaining accurate records, and upholding exemplary customer service standards. Your responsibilities include safe driving practices, reporting any issues promptly, and maintaining cleanliness standards for the bus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate University-owned buses and vehicles as assigned, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
  • Maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B minimum, with a passenger endorsement.
  • Adhere to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Oregon Law requirements.
  • Maintain records of duty status and comply with driving limitations set forth by regulations.
  • Uphold Linfield University's Sexual Harassment and Discrimination policies under Title IX.
  • Submit necessary paperwork promptly, including reimbursement requests and receipts.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during transportation.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Proficient in English for effective communication and record-keeping.
  • Experience and training in safe motor vehicle operation.
  • Possess a valid medical examiner's certificate.
  • Clean driving record with no more than one valid motor vehicle violation in the past 3 years.
  • Familiarity with driving regulations and safety protocols.
  • Ability to adhere to driving limitations and maintain accurate records.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Duties performed on a school bus, subject to various environmental factors including noise, fumes, and weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to perform emergency evacuation procedures, including pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable with frequent sitting, reaching, bending, and kneeling.
  • Excellent vision abilities including close, distance, night, color, and peripheral vision.
