Job Title: Business Development Executive - Logistics Solutions Location: Kansas City, Missouri Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Hybrid The Business Development Executive is responsible for identifying leads and selling logistics solutions through a consultative sales approach integrating company's service offerings into a designed solution specific to each customer’s needs. Responsible for selling various company service options such as TL, LTL, Intermodal, International, Freight Management, TMS, Warehousing, and other 3PL services. Build relationships throughout company and the client’s organization to facilitate the smooth execution of business and ensure the ongoing service and growth of accounts. Our client is seeking a professional who shares their commitment to delivering exceptional service, achieving results with integrity, and fostering a collaborative team environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. In a professional and ethical manner, contribute to the strategic growth of the company by securing new business opportunities that lead to the profitable growth of logistics.
  2. Identify and develop new customer relationships through solutions-based sales that can utilize the company portfolio of services to enhance their supply chain.
  3. Understand our suite of services and associated technology
  4. Act as a liaison in developing and ensuring open lines of communication between logistics and the customer.
  5. Maintain an open line of communication with the necessary logistics associates from various functions within the organization.
  6. Communicate service interruptions to customers and associates in order to maintain good working relationships and business retention.
  7. Manage continuous improvement processes and customers year-over-year growth.
  8. Participate in special projects and handles all other assigned duties as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  2. Minimum of 2 years related transportation/logistics sales experience with performance requirements being met or exceeded.
  3. Self-starter; growth and results oriented, detailed oriented and desire to be in a leadership/management position.
  4. Must be willing to travel as required in meeting essential duties and responsibilities.
  5. Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively.
  6. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and reports, as well as ability to write reports and professional business correspondence.
  7. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  8. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  9. Some after hours or weekend work as required by customer demands and/or seasonality typical to transportation.
  10. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with CRM helpful.
