JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Handle all import traffic aspects of assigned accounts efficiently and in compliance with US Customs regulations. Communicate with shippers, exporters, importers, and/or carriers to coordinate and expedite shipments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Do Work Order, Arrival Notice, and/or Bill of Lading when necessary.
  • Control the Receiving and Shipping of work orders to ensure that work is completed promptly. For example, if a work order is not returned within a reasonable timeframe, follow-up should be conducted.
  • Handle distribution and keep the client informed of the status.
  • Responsible for accurate inventory keeping.
  • Work with warehouse staff to perform regular inventory audits through cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Update Clients' information/profile sheets as needed
  • Schedule an appointment
  • Maintain open communication with customers via email and telephone

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. (preferred but not required)
  • one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS: Certifications are not mandatory for this position. However, candidates with relevant certifications (such as those in customer service, communication, or related fields) are encouraged to provide them, as they may be considered in evaluating qualifications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of part numbers and part usage, and understanding of applications for use.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to take and follow directions from a supervisor.
  • Ability to give directions to and gain compliance from assigned staff.
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to maintain good planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use computer hardware, various software programs, and technologies, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • The ability to maintain good health and physical condition sufficiently permits the full performance of the position's duties.
  • Ability to maintain a good and positive working relationship with all co-workers and other contacts.
  • Required to comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Ability to follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications
  • Ability to get to work on time and not abuse attendance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Work is performed inside an office, working closely with others and alone, with light travel required. The work involves rotating shifts, extended workdays outside regular working hours, and on-call status. Work requires simple grasping, standing, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, walking, carrying up to 15 pounds, and light lifting of up to 24 pounds. The ability to see, write, count, read, identify shades of colors, and hear is needed to perform essential functions.
