LOGISTICS COORDINATOR - Feed

AgState is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to play a key role in managing feed transportation to farms and storage facilities. This position is responsible for coordinating daily feed deliveries using both company-owned and contracted haulers, ensuring on-time service, cost efficiency, and full compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner, according to AgState safety policies.
  • Demonstrates work habits that develop, build, and support the team concept within the organization.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate feed deliveries with AgState drivers and contracted carriers, using logistics software to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Manage feed delivery documentation, update logistics databases, and ensure compliance with feed safety and traceability regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports, including proper trailer sequencing and flushing of medicated feeds.
  • Coordinate multi-stop deliveries efficiently to optimize routes and reduce costs.
  • Clearly communicate consistently with drivers, production teams, and internal sales staff.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive working relationships with independent owner-operators and contract haulers.
  • Report unsafe conditions, practices, or violations of company policies to management.
  • Stay current on Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and transportation compliance.
  • Support logistics needs at other AgState locations as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a current Iowa Driver's license and ability to obtain Class A CDL.
  • Maintain current knowledge of DOT regulations.
