Job description

Job Summary:

Provides guidance and supervision for logistics managers in performing logistics planning and management functions in support of in-service aircraft, weapon systems, training, or SE programs. Reviews recommended changes from fleet and other activities, ECPs, Site Activation Schedules, WSPDs, Navy Training Plans, Production Training and Support Equipment schedules and independent technical investigations. Provide support and participate in the preparation, coordination, operation, and post evaluation of IPSMT reviews, Readiness Improvement Program Reviews, IPT, Maintenance Engineering or Logistics reviews and other technical and logistics meetings. Manages the efforts of junior logistics personnel. Prepare lessons learned for process improvement for new acquisition programs. Perform various tasks related to the development of detailed business processes such as LRFS, PBL Strategies, Issue Sheets, Logistics Engineering Change Proposal, Critical Item Logistics Review, Degraders, Cost Per Flight Hour management, and PSM implementation. Responsible for the performance of various tasks related to the development of cost and trend analysis to defend logistics planning with respect to logistics footprint across the platform, provisioning of spares, depot and squadron standup as well as Reduction of TOC to include development of BCAs to support program decisions.

Education and Experience:

  • MS or MA Degree in Logistics Management, Business, Engineering, or Management.
  • At least 10 yearsโ€™ FTE experience in operational logistics or maintenance engineering.
  • Four (4) yearsโ€™ experience directing the activities of operational technicians in the performance of comprehensive analysis across the spectrum of IPS elements during a job assignment in an Operational Command or supporting an Operational Command.
  • Four (4) years of operational (fleet support) logistics support experience.
  • Two (2) years of specific experience in operational logistics planning and management, which demonstrates the ability to perform independent work to provide logistics planning, scheduling, execution and support system effectiveness analysis, studies and evaluations in support of DoD weapons systems and equipment.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides guidance and supervision for logistics managers in performing logistics planning and management functions.
  • Reviews recommended changes from fleet and other activities.
  • Provides support and participates in reviews and technical and logistics meetings.
  • Manages the efforts of junior logistics personnel.
  • Responsible for the performance of various tasks related to the development of cost and trend analysis to defend logistics planning.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of operational logistics or maintenance engineering.
  • Must be able to direct activities of operational technicians.
  • Must be able to perform independent work to provide logistics planning, scheduling, execution and support system effectiveness analysis, studies and evaluations in support of DoD weapons systems and equipment.

Salary: The projected salary range for this position is $170,000-$190,000 and is based on experience and contractual requirements. However, this is not a guarantee of salary.
