Project Manager – Specialized Projects / New Structures

Location: Sterling, Virginia (Occasional Project Travel)

Job Summary

Freyssinet is seeking a Project Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of specialized construction projects focused on post-tensioning, concrete repair and restoration, CFRP strengthening systems, bridge rehabilitation, new structures, and other self-performed construction services. This role is responsible for managing projects from award through completion while ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and highly organized construction professional with strong financial management and project planning skills. Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

  • Manage specialty construction projects from award through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts.
  • Coordinate self-performed field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage procurement activities, equipment planning, and material logistics.

Financial & Contract Management

  • Monitor project budgets, forecasting, and cost controls.
  • Administer contracts, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Ensure projects meet financial objectives while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to maintain profitability.

Client & Team Coordination

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, field leadership, and project stakeholders.
  • Provide clear communication throughout all phases of project execution.
  • Collaborate with operations and field teams to ensure successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Support a team-oriented culture focused on accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Industry Experience

  • Experience managing commercial construction, heavy civil, structural concrete, or specialty construction projects.
  • Background in concrete repair, bridge rehabilitation, or self-performed construction preferred.
  • Post-tensioning and CFRP strengthening system experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong project planning, scheduling, and financial management experience.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent construction management experience will be considered.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
  • Post-tensioning experience is beneficial but not required.
